CSIR Bharat (Centre for Studies in International Relations) is a premier research institution dedicated to advancing India’s civilisational perspective on international affairs. Inspired by the timeless vision of Swami Vivekananda, the Centre promotes research, policy dialogue, cultural diplomacy, and academic collaboration while strengthening India’s intellectual traditions and global engagement through the ideals of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam — the world as one family.

Our Mandate

CSIR is dedicated to advancing research and informed dialogue on international affairs, global governance, diplomacy, and strategic studies through publications, events, and collaborative initiatives.

Key Initiatives & Projects

• Research Excellence — To study International Relations by applying the methodology, tools and practices drawing on a diverse range of Indic perspective on International Relations.
• Academic Collaboration — To create a nationwide network of scholars and collaborate with institutions working in the area of International Relations.
• Policy & Strategic Studies — To encourage studies on cultural, economic, social, political, security, environmental issues, and other fields related to International Relations and Indian Foreign Policy.
• Capacity Building — To provide internships to young scholars and conduct academic training programmes, workshops, seminars/conferences etc., to develop a distinct understanding of International Relations.
