About Us

The Centre for Studies in International Relations (CSIR) is an independent think tank committed to advancing India’s cultural and civilizational perspective on international affairs. By drawing on philosophical insights, historical experience, and India’s rich heritage, the Centre promotes an interdisciplinary approach to the study of world politics. CSIR facilitates scholarly engagement in both theoretical and policy-relevant research, with a particular focus on nurturing emerging scholars in international relations and emphasizing the historical, philosophical, and axiological foundations of the Indic perspective.

CSIR enhances India’s intellectual traditions and international engagement by fostering research, policy dialogue, cultural diplomacy, and academic collaboration. The Centre offers timely advice to policymakers, ensuring that India’s foreign policy practices reflect distinctive perspectives on global affairs. Guided by the ideals of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, or the world as one family, CSIR contributes to developing informed and culturally grounded approaches to international challenges.
